The Norfolk Southern Pennsylvania Railroad Heritage Unit rolls through Derry, PA on home rails at the former site of DR Interlocking. Leading an empty coal train, the PRR 8102 pulls NS 595 West towards Shire Oaks.
Derry served as the eastern terminus for Pittsburgh Commuter trains in the steam era, and was home to an extensive roundhouse and shop complex. Over the years, the buildings were torn down, and the interlocking and its tower were removed, except for a hand-throw switch and stub track used to set out cars and store MOW equipment.
