The former Pennsylvania Railroad mainline twists and turns through the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains, following the Little Conemaugh River to South Fork, crossing it several times on a series of stone arch viaducts. This particular area was the slag dumps for Bethlehem Steel's Johnstown Facility that operated into the early 1990s. The bridge in the background was part of the Conemaugh and Black Lick Railroad which used the bridge to transport slag.
